I often like hiding cats in my jacket (just kidding). This is one of my favorite cards–it’s plain and simple, but I adore it. PS–it comes from Japan.
Dear Woman Who Screamed At Me On The Subway That No One Cares About Me,
NO ONE CARES.
Love,
The chick trying to ignore you.
Woman by my desk,
Why do you keep asking me:
What time we will close?
House of Mystery: Room and Boredom (Volume One)
Matthew Sturges
While waiting for Fables to continue along, I needed a new series that was similar to my favorite world and characters. I found one! It helps that the art is done by Bill Willingham, who also did Fables.
The series follows the inhabitants of a bar at the edge of the world as they live in a mysterious house that just won’t let them go–literally. My favorite part is that patrons pay for drinks with storytelling.
And they’re gross, violent stories! You KNOW those are my favorite! I love it! The series looks like it’s definitely not for children, though adults who enjoy Fables and Sandman will adore this one. Actually, it reminds me a lot of volume eight of Sandman. Bar. Lost souls. Stories within stories. It’s fantastic.
I already have a hold on the next in the series–I’m dying to get my hands on it. I highly recommend this one!
Dear Super Obnoxious Man Blocking Everyone on the Subway,
Nope. Totally cool. Continue to try to woo your lady friend with your cool-dude pose, which happens to take up the entire middle of the subway. Don’t worry about everyone else trying to get on the train. You’re the only one that matters.
Love,
The chick who said “excuse me” three times before pushing past you.
There was a slight delay getting this post out, sorry!
Every year my friends and I put together gifts for those that decorate their houses for Christmas. We pick a random night, then drive around my town and award the top four houses (in our opinion). We’ve managed to almost perfect our system, but mostly it’s just good fun for us, and a quick thank you for others. Also, it’s hilarious to watch my brother run to the door, drop of the gift, ring the bell, and then frantically run away.
Each person in the car gets to make a rule for what qualifies a house. This year winners had to have more than one color lights, if there were blinking lights, they had to be in sync, there couldn’t be any inflatable decorations, and there couldn’t be any candles in the windows. Somehow, with these picky rules, we found a ton of houses that were amazingly decorated.
Here’s the pictures of the houses we awarded this year (also, please note the expert photography skills. Thanks Nick):
4th place:
3rd place (best tree ever):
2nd place:
And finally, 1st place! For your entertainment, I am including a video of us trying to record the drop-off. Enjoy!
Here’s the drop-off:
Congratulations winners! Thanks for taking the time to make your houses beautiful and sharing it with us. We had a lot of fun dropping off awards!
