NaNoWriMo Update #1

Hurricane Sandy brought with it unexpected bonuses.  I got to sit and write my fingers off for the first week, allowing me to get ahead by quite a lot.  I came up with a second story idea at the last minute, but I decided in the end to go with the idea I had been toying around with for a while.  If you’d like to keep up with my progress, you can see my word count here:

Dani’s Word Count!

It’s back to work for me though, so now begins the real test of whether or not I can keep up with my word goal each day.  Wish me the best!  I hope this week treats you well, and any of you guys without power and heat, I hope you get it back very soon.  Some of you with greater sorrows, know that I think about you often and wish you only the happiest things.  You have my love.

In the spirit of past updates, here’s the last line I wrote tonight!

I started my quest to find the librarian.

…Of course that would be the last line, right?  Haha.  Have a great week!

OH!  And go vote!

Week One Hundred Twenty-Seven

Hello all!  I haven’t been weighing in lately with all the drama llama going on in my apartment.  However, I’m settled back into another place, so hopefully my visits and my workouts will kick start again.  According to my scale, over the course of October, I lost 3.9 pounds, bringing my grand total to 91.9 pounds.  THAT’S SO CLOSE TO 100!  I’m super excited, and so so happy that everything is working out (finally).

In addition to all this, tonight I went out to run the track, and though my month away from running definitely took its toll, I still was able to completely over a mile and a half in good time.  Not too shabby.  With any luck, I’ll be at 5 miles before the end of November, and then I can sign up for the New Year’s Eve marathon.  Here’s to hoping!

Have an amazing week, and to those who are without homes, power, and electricity: I hope that everything you’ve lost comes back to you one hundred times, and that you have someone to hug each day.

iZombie: uVampire (Volume Two)

iZombie Vol. 2: uVampire

Chris Roberson

This series has the amazing ability to move at the pace of dead snails.  Nothing really happened in this volume, though a new villain was introduced and a budding romance finally blossomed.  I couldn’t imagine reading these as single issues.  I’d explode.

The jury is still out on whether or not I actually like this series.  I’ll definitely be checking out the next volume, but if it’s another dud, I’m abandoning this lot for something more exciting.  I did like the explanation of how Spot got possessed though.  He’s my favorite character.  Try this series out if you dare–it’s got a ton of potential (to disappoint you).
