The view of this Chinese postcard is absolutely stunning. There’s something nice about seeing the world from a spot a little different than usual (I was going to say “higher” but then I thought you’d all make drug jokes, haha).

Dear Chick Playing Footsie With Me At Starbucks,
Seriously? You don’t see my foot? It’s definitely your doing because I haven’t moved my foot in about thirty minutes. Stop flexing your foot around and rotating your ankle like it’s a wind-up toy. You keep tapping my foot. You’re doing it right now. It’s massively annoying! If you don’t stop, I swear I will bite your foot off. I’m serious! I’ll do it!
Love,
The chick who’s reverted to staring at you until you stop moving your foot
Winnie the Pooh (2011)
I was really excited when I heard they were making this movie. I read all of the Winnie the Pooh stories when I was in college and they touched me in a way I can’t quite explain. Even just thinking about my experience reading them makes this warm bubbly feeling erupt inside.
The movie starts exactly the same way as all the other Winnie the Pooh movies (the cartoons from the 90’s), with the stuffed characters in Christopher Robin’s room. It brought me back to the days when I used to spend my Saturday watching my Winnie the Pooh VHS tapes.
The story itself is nothing extraordinary, but the feeling of joy and the chance to reminisce about a happy past is definitely worth it.
Around the World
Matt Phelan
This graphic novel follows the incredible journeys of three individuals–Nellie Bly, Thomas Stevens (the man who rode a bicycle around the world) and Joshua Slocum.
I loved it! I especially found Nellie Bly to be hilarious and inspiring. I loved the art, the narration, and most of all, the order of the stories. It was expertly done. By the time I got to the end, I felt like I had come full circle (hahaha, pun intended). I really felt a connection with the last individual, Joshua Slocum, who sailed around the world on his boat.
If you’re interested in travel stories, especially unbelievable tales of people who just won’t quit, you’ll definitely love this one. I highly recommend it!
