Steven Arntson
This book has a great cover and inside contains a full-color bestiary. Seeing that, I couldn’t wait to start reading. It’s an interesting idea–students in the city live in plastic houses and are watched at all times by cameras. Their every move is e-mailed to their parents. Books no longer exist, along with trees and cats. While this summary may sound interesting, the story itself was poorly done.
Too much goes on in the story without any of it being properly explained. Nothing is explored as deeply as I would have liked and the ending felt like a completely unfinished thought. I was deeply disappointed with this book. I had one thousand questions the author never addressed by the end of the story. Frankly, by the time I reached the ending, I was so frustrated by the plot that I didn’t even care.
I disliked this book so much that I’d advise you all not to bother with it.
