30 Days of Night: Return to Barrow (Volume Three)

This book only slightly follows what happened in the first two volumes, or at least that’s how it seems.  We’re back in Barrow for another dark season, but now the residents are prepared.  The art is the same–which, while it’s not my favorite, is beginning to grow on me.  I’d much rather it be consistent artwork I don’t enjoy than art that changes from volume to volume.

There is a pleasant surprise  at the end of the story and though I guessed it early in the volume, it was still nice to see.  I liked the quick, simple ways the author tied this volume in with the first volume.  They were subtle and very well done.  This volume fits very nicely in with the series and made me eagerly look forward to reading the next one.  I highly recommend this series to those who are a fan of bloody, violent, vampire tales.
