The Professor’s Daughter

The Professor’s Daughter

Joann Sfar and Emmanuel Guibert

This is a random graphic novel I grabbed because the cover looked interesting.  See why great covers are important?  To quickly summarize the book: It’s about an Egyptian mummy who falls in love with his Victorian archaeologist’s daughter.  A great many things go wrong before love has a chance to conquer all.

This was very short–it only took me an hour to read (I was also answering e-mails).  It’s very silly and adorable–and reminds readers that love will win in the end, regardless of who you accidentally kill or the fact that you’ve been dead for several hundred years.  If you’re looking for a cute, quick read and enjoy love tales from Victorian England, then make sure to check this one out.
